Mid Sussex Golf Club

The Course

Course Status

Mid Sussex: Saturday 27th April. Course Open, Trolleys and No buggies apart from on medical grounds, Range open from 7.30am - 6pm.

Designed to high specifications by renowned course architect David Williams and former winner of the European Open, Andrew Murray, Mid Sussex Golf Club first opened its doors to the public in 1995. Since then we have been fortunate to host such events as the Sussex Mid-Age Championship, the Sussex Seniors Open and a number of County Matches and Events, which is a great tribute to the quality of the course.

The course is set in surprisingly mature parkland and features superbly contoured greens, interesting natural water hazards and a host of strategically placed bunkers. It is maintained year round to a high standard, without the need for temporary tees and greens.

It has a reputation for being a fun course to play for all standards of golfers off the forward tees, and so lends itself well as a golf day venue. It can also be stretched out to a tougher test off the back tees.

The 14th is the signature hole on the course - a par 5 which the big hitters can hit in two, but with water snaking through the hole, with bunkers waiting for every mistake and with a "switchback" green, there is also the danger of a scorecard wrecking double bogey or worse!

Practice Facilities

The range

Our driving range is set in a most idyllic location in the peaceful countryside just a short pitch from the first tee. Grass tees are often in use as well as the all-weather mats. The range is now partly covered and so in use 12 months of the year. The serious practicer may want to consider our Practice facilities at great token rates. All societies, green fees and guests for the day will be able to warm up on the range on purchase of a token.

The pitching and bunker area

We have an area of land set aside solely for those who wish to tighten up their game from 100 yards and in. There are four "short" holes which can be played from tee to green. The main green is flanked by a practice bunker giving opportunity to rid yourself of your fear of sand.

The putting greens

You'll find our main putting green right where it should be.....by the first tee. As it was constructed in keeping with the rest of the greens with regards to it's contours, undulations and consistency of pace, you'll know exactly what to expect when you venture out onto the course. Our other putting green is conveniently close to the clubhouse bar - ideal should your practice not go to plan!
